I Love Vintage: My Kitchen

The Pillsbury Dough Boy cookie jar on top of the refrigerator belonged to my Grandma Ruth. I remember her having it when I was a kid, so I believe it is from the ’70s or ’80s.

The vintage menu is from La Tour en Rand, which was at one time, in the revolving tower atop the Holiday Inn, downtown Kansas City. The menu is not dated.

These shakers are not vintage, but were made as a Christmas gift by my nephew. One contains tumeric, and the other holds cinnamon.

This menu is from JB’s Big Boy and is dated 1969. We also had a Big Boy in Aberdeen when I was elementary school age. The wood salt shaker and pepper mill were made by my dad in high school woodshop. He graduated in 1962, so they are close to 50 years old.

The long skinny menu is the dinner menu from Nantucket Cove, at one time located at 1300 Baltimore in Kansas City. The menu is not dated, but I doubt the restaurant is still there. You never know, though. The other menu is from the soda fountain and candy shop at the Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory. I’m not certain, but this particular menu looks like it could be a reproduction, but I still like it.
